A series of black-and-whites photos named “Centenarians” will shock and impress us as the project reminds people time elapsing and fleeting youth never returns by focusing on the details of human body, pores, marks and wrinkles, and exploring the aging human frame. A 101-year-old woman wanted to photograph herself in the nude but keeping identity a secret, Photographer Anastasia Pottinger satisfied her desire and created shockingly wonderful artworks. “Viewers are visibly moved by what they are looking at, ” the artist talks the “Centenarians” project on her website, “Whether it’s wondering ‘is this what I’m going to look like?’ or remembering a loved one – the response seems to be universally emotional on some level.”
