According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the average adult can spend 2000 – 2500 Calories to stay in shape, however, it’s difficult for us by the amount of Calories to chose and size up a food, some foods have more Calories than others but not what we might imagine. Wisegeek will help us to make decisions in a tangible way, who picks and takes pictures of 71 common foods in a wide variety of categories like peanut butter, canned beans, fruits and vegetables to find out how 200 calories of each food looks like. Wisegeek took all pictures with a Nikon D70 digital camera and the portion sizes of these foods, in the plate of 10.25″ (26cm) in diameter and the bowl of 6.25″ (16cm), are all relative to each other. Counting calories when choosing which foods to eat is important to maintain our weight, but a diet extremely low in calories can also lead to nutritionally unsound, nutritive value and diversity of food choices are considerable as well.
