Tesla Hearse – Where Technology Meets Minimalism in Funeral Design
Dutch customization company Derks recently unveiled an innovative product—the electric hearse “Hearse 3,” modified from a Tesla Model 3. The vehicle retains the Model 3’s front fascia but features an extended wheelbase and raised roofline to transform the rear cabin into a solemn chamber capable of accommodating a coffin.
The optional “starlight roof” interior, humorously dubbed as having an “otherworldly” aesthetic, redefines traditional funeral vehicles with technological sophistication.
With a range of 300 kilometers, Derks acknowledges the limited mileage demands of funeral transport, yet the zero-emission attributes align seamlessly with eco-conscious burial trends.
Previously, the RemetzCar team also created an electric hearse based on the Model S by cutting the chassis and extending the wheelbase by 80 centimeters. The silent electric powertrain enhances the serenity and dignity of farewell ceremonies.
