Inspired by intimate memories of water, sensation, and fascination with the complexity of light, Florida-based artist Reisha Perlmutter creates realistic underwater paintings that will deceive our eyes. Reisha Perlmutter was born and raised in Naples, Fl, who got her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Bates College in Maine and received her Master of Fine Arts at the New York Academy of Art. “Light is critical to these works. It is metaphorical of course in terms of internal illumination, but also directly necessary in evoking sensation and beauty through its presence and inherent complexity.  The imagery of this series uses light as its life force. Light and its transience is captured in the moment of a painting’ existence, and held. It abstracts the idea of time.” Reisha writes on her website.
