This beautiful star-shaped Fort about 32 kilometers northeast of Emmen in the Netherlands is Fort Bourtange, which was built during the Eighty Years War (1568-1648) to control the only road connecting Germany and the village of Bourtange, Groningen and was converted into a village in 1851, now, it’s preserved as a historical museum in the village of Bourtange, Groningen.
