New concept bookstore in Romania looks like a white palace
This beautiful bookshop is located in Cărtureşti Carusel, a 1860s building in Bucharest’s Old Town also known as “The Carousel of Light”, on the famous Lipscani street and surrounded by coffee shops, clothing stores and pubs. The current house owner, Jean Chrissovelloni, the great-grandson of the 19th century banker, transformed this historic building into a gorgeous work of architectural art and leased for 10 years to Romanian bookshop chain Carturesti. The concept bookstore has six floors, accommodates a 1,000 square metres shop area with 10,000 books, 5,000 albums and DVDs and a bistro on the top floor.
