This resin table named the Earth Table is made by designers C.R. & S. RIVA1920, a family-run Italian furniture design company, what makes it unique is that the table is made from a rare type of ancient wood 50,000 years old called millenary Kauri. The prehistoric Kauri trees are found on New Zealand’s North Island, which were buried in peat at the end of the last ice age and have been perfectly preserved underground in a chemically balanced environment ever since. The table top is made from a combination of resin and wood and is installed upon a base designed by well-known architect Renzo Piano.
