Drawing art on chalkboards has been popular in Japanese students in recent years. Japanese company Nichigaku, a manufacturer making blackboard, whiteboard and electronic boards for classrooms, held a Blackboard Art contest and got 50 entries from 249 young artists on a wide range of subject matter, from landscapes to animal to human society activities. The winner won a prize of a gift card up to 100,000 yen (about $877).
