Japanese artist Manabu Ikeda specializes in pen & ink drawing technique, recently he completed a giant drawing he started to work on since 2013. The artwork named Rebirth measures 13×10 foot, Manabu Ikeda worked 10 hours a day, six days a week and spent 3.5 years to finish it. The drawing depicts a tree of bloom growing out of heaps of ruin that is being struck by the tsunami waves. “My goal is to faithfully express my view of the world in my composition, but I don’t intentionally depict detailed images,” the artist told the Chazen Museum of Art. “Because I see details when I observe things, rather than the whole, I find pen and ink to be the best tools to express how I see them.”
