Commissioned by the Epiphany Elephant Museum, Cindy Chinn, a full-time artist workinig in a variety of mediums, creates this elaborate artwork called “Elephant Walk” that represents a family of elephants walking across the Serengeti in Tanzania. With the help of a magnifying lamp and a trinocular, the artist uses the wood of a pencil to carve the canopy of trees, the trunks and elephants with detailed skin texture are made from pencil lead.
